Tail some general public pages Contingent upon how large your association is, you may have various days of the reasonable committed to specific sorts of social orders. For instance, the Wednesday might be exclusively for Dance gatherings. Hence, in the event that you have a deep longing to take up Bollywood at uni (I mean, who wouldn't?) at that point look into what day they're at the reasonable previously, so you can come for more data. In case you're uncertain about a general public, I strongly suggest doing this. They'll have individuals from the panel there to reveal to you progressively about what the gathering does, how regularly they meet, if it's easygoing or a dedication, and (seemingly in particular) what the socials resemble. So you can swing by and pose inquiries until your souls content. Furthermore, in the event that you look at the online life represents social orders before the reasonable you'll have a really smart thought of what they get up to, and you'll be too sharp which establishes a HUGE connection with any general public leader. I used to run Improv in the Comedy Soc, and on the off chance that somebody came up who'd just done some examination on us, they had some genuine pats on the back with me. There will be guides USE THEM It very well may be enticing to simply go swinging into a Freshers Fair like youre Spider-Man, however lets be blunt: these things are hyper, hyper, hyper. You'll wind up joining the progression of individuals, not realizing how to take the exit at the stands that intrigue you the most. Each table ought to be numbered on a guide, so simply take a look and that should make you somewhat less overpowered. There will likewise be segments of the reasonable devoted to outsider organizations just as social orders. So maybe you're investigating joining the University Officers' Training Corps (UOTC) while you study, or you might be keen on getting some money/motivating forces by turning into a brand represetative. Only Certain Circumstances Make An Employee Eligible for FMLA While some employees would prefer being able to take leaves under the FMLA for any family-health related crisis, the act particularly deals in the following situations: Serious health condition of self or a family member Reasons covering the care for a covered service member or pertaining to certain military deployments The birth of a child and the period required to properly bond and care for the child Placement of a child with the employee for purposes of adoption or foster care Not All Employers Are Required To Comply With FMLA Not all employers are required to be covered under the FMLA. Employers that have held 50 or more employees for a period of more than 20 weeks in the current or the previous year are required to comply with the FMLA. Not All Employees Are Eligible For FMLA For employees that have only worked with the company for less than a year and fewer than 1,250 hours in particular, employers are not required to grant those leaves under the FMLA. An Employer Has The Right To Demand Proof While the FMLA doesnât require employees to present a proof of their reason for the leave, employers are granted the right to ask for medical certification from a qualified health care provider. It is important for employers to note, a request for certified proof should not be made any later than five days from the time that an employee submits a request for the leave. Employers Can Change Your Job Role Upon Return The FMLA binds employers to reinstate the job of every employee that seeks days off under the FMLA. However, the FMLA doesnât restrict employers from changing the job roles and duties of employees. The DOL notes , âUpon return from FMLA leave, an employee must be restored to his or her original job or to an equivalent job with equivalent pay, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment.â The FMLA, along with other regulations that govern workforce compliance and safety procedures, are often very difficult to determine. OSHA outreach programs such as online safety courses can help you access the information you need to make the right decisions as an employer or an employee.

Career Advice From the Class of 2015
Profession Advice From the Class of 2015 This week my first youngster started her school profession. Ive disclosed to her many anecdotes about my school understanding yet on this day I was pondering the school understanding from the guardians point of view. The day brought back a memory of my dad and carrying my more seasoned sibling to school more than 35 years ago.My father was one of the least bombastic individuals I have ever met, yet when we carried my sibling to class, father chose to employ a limo administration (we didnt own a vehicle) to ship us from New York to Philadelphia. At the point when we showed up on the grounds quad we were welcomed by inquisitive understudies and guardians pondering who the rich individuals (we were a long way from rich) in the vehicle were. We were embarrassed by the consideration and prodded my dad about the appalling excursion to Phili for quite a long time. At the point when my other sibling and I arranged for school, we told father that Amtrak, Greyhound, or even a secured wagon wou ld be a superior strategy for transport for the occasion. So I was at first killed by the way that my girls school has a custom that the whole Freshman class walks through the school doors to connote the start of their school profession. It took me back to that limosine ride and the occasion appeared to be similarly senseless and over the top to me.But something happened once the parade began and I at long last comprehended the ride in the limo that day as I held back a couple of tears and viewed 2,000+ rookie stop traffic to stroll through the entryway. I generally contemplated my dad being pleased that his first child got into an extraordinary school and he needed to enjoy for only one day and go in style. However, presently I think the limo ride was progressively about commending the excursion and all the means it took to get this first child into school. So while I was watching the class of 2015 stream through the entryways I pondered where they were going however more than that I considered where they had been. I considered what number of endless days and evenings their folks had gone through helping their children with schoolwork, instructing sports groups, being whelp scout cave pioneers, going to instructor parent meetings, and everything in between. When you are bringing up messes with you some of the time get so enveloped with the procedure that you neglect to praise all the difficult work that went into the procedure or recognize all the individuals who helped you en route. Also, I began pondering how obvious that is in a pursuit of employment. Individuals get so enveloped with the ultimate objective of getting a new line of work that they neglect to commend the victories en route. What's more, when they land the position they so frantically need to overlook the time they spent looking and simply proceed onward. In any case, I think there is huge incentive in pondering the procedure. So when you land your new position and enter the structure on the pr incipal day or go to the recently recruited employee direction, consider the future, yet additionally pause for a moment to ponder the past and value all the difficult work that went into the procedure.

What Does Googles Entry Into the Recruitment Space Mean for the Industry
What Does Googleâs Entry Into the Recruitment Space Mean for the Industry With Google for Jobs and Google Hire, Google has formally staked their place in the recruitment industry and it looks like theyre here to stay. Its one of the biggest bombshells to hit the recruitment space in recent times, so how big of an impact will they have? Will Google Hire revolutionize how small to medium-sized enterprises attract talent? Will Google for Jobs completely disrupt the $200 billion recruiting industry? Lets ask our panel of experts. Jonathan Kestenbaum If I were Indeed, I would be scared. If I were an Applicant Tracking System that focuses on small to medium sized businesses, I would be scared. If I were a Talent Acquisition enthusiast, I would be excited that such a large organization is taking interest in helping innovate within the space. Jonathan Kestenbaum, Executive Director, Talent Tech Labs Cheryl Cran Google Hire is going to transform the use of algorithms in the recruitment space faster data and faster matching of talent to employer is going to make Google Hire a major competitor in the recruitment space. Cheryl Cran, CEO Future of Work Expert, Synthesis at Work Inc Nathan Perrott Whilst itâs too early to tell for sure, itâs a potential game changer. With Google for Jobs (their search engine job board-style user experience) it could have a major impact on the future of job boards and aggregators. Although, the EUâs European Commissioner for Competition may have an issue with its rollout in Europe. With the Google Jobs API (job search for career sites), the benefits are easy to see â" better user experience, greater relevancy, happier candidates. Cost could prove a barrier to some though. And lastly, Googleâs ATS offering (âHireâ) could disrupt the SME space, but not the enterprise market just yet. Nathan Perrott, Director of Digital Marketing Strategy, AIA Worldwide Adam Glassman No doubt that it will be disruptive. I frankly donât believe Googleâs initial approach with organic searches will last, and canât imagine that they wonât monetize their recruitment solutions. Think what that could mean as they charge companies directly for a suite of products, including Google ads, SEM, Google Jobs, Google Hire, etc. Imagine what that will do to the likes of Indeed, CareerBuilder, Snagajob, Monster, etc. If priced affordably, it could be a huge benefit to companies as the candidate data will be robust and coordinated (FYI â" Google will know a hell of a lot about our candidates). But what will it cost? And who will be their new competitors? Adam Glassman, Recruitment Strategies Manager, Alorica Hung Lee Itâs as big a deal as it sounds. Both of Google for Jobs and Google Hire are potentially marketing changing for the job ads and ATS space respectively. Google for Jobs is going to mean problems for Indeed, job boards and job aggregators. Anyone who sells traffic and job discovery are in line to be disintermediated. Conversely, original content makers employers with career sites stand to benefit as Google for Jobs prioritise their job content over duplicates or aggregated data. In the ATS space, Google Hire is obviously a problem for all the ATS players out there a direct competitor that can offer the unique advantage of seamless integration with GSuite, and presumably with the aforementioned Google for Jobs product in the near future. Hung Lee, CEO, WorkShape.io Chris Russell Firstly I think its a huge validation for other players in the space. It means that they see their is money to be made and problems to solve. It also means that they think the current vendors need to do a better job of creating a simplified user experience. More competition will weed out the vendors and products that fail to keep up with the new way to attract and retain talent. Chris Russell, Managing Director, RecTech Media Bryan Chaney When there are more companies trying to solve a recruiting problem, the world gets a lot smaller. Increased competition makes us all think more creatively to push limits. If you can help people get the right jobs faster and easier, then the job seeker gets a better experience and we as employers and recruiters, all win. Bryan Chaney, Director of Employer Brand, Indeed

The Recruiters Guide to Mobile Live Video
The Recruiters Guide to Mobile Live Video Mobile live streaming â" what are the benefits to companies and individual recruiters? And which tools should they use? I put these timely questions to Krishna De, who is a digital visual content marketing guru. She answered these questions and more besides. Have a listen on iTunes, SoundCloud or keep reading for a summary of our conversation. Our tip of the week is actually a book: Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future and this weekâs big shout goes out to Martin Mosler of Hager Group. Why should brands be looking at mobile live streaming and whats the opportunity? Im sure that a number of the people have been experimenting with webinar platforms. Perhaps theyve used platforms such as Ustream and Livestream in the past maybe for annual results or internal communications or sharing information about whats going on and events for their organisations. The big significant change that weve seen probably in the last 15 to 18 months is the fact that itâs now very accessible for us to do at minimal cost and also with just mobile devices. So the reason that I think that organisations need to pay attention, and many of them are already onto this, is that for a long time people have said we want to learn whats going on inside an organisation. We want to see the real people there. Thats who we trust. You know, if you look at organisation barometers such as the Edelman Trust Barometer, you know, we trust people like us versus a faceless organisation no matter what sector theyre in. Then this is the opportunity. Theres opportunities really around the fact of it makes it very accessible because its on a mobile device. That means that you can share things in a way that perhaps you wouldnt have done before. In the past you might have had to bring cameras and rigs in and audio and lighting and a professional crew. Now we can do that literally from a device that we have in our pocket provided that weve got good Wi-Fi or data connection, which also is making it very cost effective for organisations. Not only giving a different perspective of whats going on in the organisation but is also reducing costs, overheads in some cases. What is the key to success with mobile live video? The key things in terms of mobile live video or live streaming some people might call it, is that what youre doing there is that you are going to be effectively sharing what you see and what you hear around you to the audience on whatever platform theyre on. One of the key things that weve seen with mobile live video is the ability where you can have either one or multiple people at the same time and then the other thing you can look at, is actually how people interact. So in some platforms you bring people in and they can also be in the screen with you or it might be that they are commenting and then you respond to the comments. So thats why its really social. About the fact that its interactive in that way. Just in terms of a way to get started, I actually have been covering live streaming and live video for several years in terms of case studies on different platforms. What Ive seen now in terms of actually going to mobile live videos is reallyjust give you five little steps that you can think about. Before you press the start button, Im going to give you something which spells out START. S Strategic My S is for lets be strategic. Lets understand what are you trying to do in terms of using this platforms? Whats the goal that you are trying to support? Maybe theres a communications goal, maybe theres a resourcing goal, maybe theres an employer branding goal. So lets understand what that is. Like anything else that you do in communications, how does this tie back to something else? It could be very puny. You want to learn about this. You want to experiment. You want to be seen as an innovator. Thats fine as long as weve cleared up that. T Technology My second letter for you, T. T is about technology. There are a few things you need to take into consideration in terms of technology. Now you can get started with literally a mobile phone and nothing else but I would encourage you to think some things such as the lighting. So the environment that you are in, how would you make sure you get the best lighting possible? Maybe thats about the daylight that you have or maybe have to accentuate it with some other lighting. The other thing is because youre on a mobile device, your battery power. Ive seen lots of people actually fall flat because theyve actually run out of battery. The third thing you might look at there is about Wi-Fi or data. Mobile live streaming eats up a lot of data. So either go for an unlimited contract or make sure that you know what your cap is there, particularly if youre going to do long live streams. Ive seen some people do them like eight hours in terms of a mobile live stream. Others might do it just a few mi nutes. So make sure youve got sufficient data or youve got a good Wi-Fi connection because that could stop you. A Audio The third letter I have for you of course in the word START is A for audio. And people will be forgiving some visuals but theyll be less forgiving if youve got great audio. So a very simple thing that you could do is, most of you will have a headset that comes with your own ear buds with a microphone that comes with your smart phone or your smart device. Then use that because that can help you reduce the ambient sound, particularly if you are outside then youre going to have some wind buffering very often. Just simply do that. Now I do have lots and lots of resources on my website which we can talk about later if people are interested but the minimum you can get away with is just your ear buds that comes with your phone. R Rights The R for you in the letter START, is rights. Rights for me incorporate things like do you have the rights of the people and the agreement of the people to be able to actually show them in your live stream? As an example, even if you had an in-house event, a good practice would be to make sure people know that youre going to be live streaming it so if they dont want to be on camera, because that could be caught and recorded and published on all sorts of platforms afterwards, then they step out of the way. So Ive been at events where theyve said that right up front. So you make sure you stand out of the way. The same in terms of the rights to the graphics and any brand imagery youre going to share, and also the rights to music. Increasingly, Im seeing people are sharing music and if youre going to re-purpose your content particularly you need to think about that. Even if you are doing concerts, Ive spoken to a concert hall who does live streaming for a number of their events but they also have to make sure theyve got the permission of the people there involved to do that. T Test And my last letter in my word START, so weve covered strategy, weve covered technology, audio, rights. The last one is test. So before you even hit the start button, Id encourage you to test. You can do things like how am I going to title this? Have I got the right camera angle? Lets see how I am going to navigate through, perhaps you are doing a walk-through of something and also what are people looking like on camera? Whats the sound like? The other thing to remember because if youre using a smart device, youve got a front facing and a rear facing camera and that can affect the audio quality. So again, using those ear buds or using a separate microphone will also help that. So there are my five things Id look at before you even hit the start broadcast button. What are the challenges with mobile live video and where do brands get it wrong? The first thing Id say is not actually doing it, because theres so many organisations who are still not yet confident and are considering using live video where it could be a great opportunity. I know because of the work that you do, Jorgen, that very often youre talking about the employment opportunity in terms of the employer brand, employee communications, as well as other marketing elements. There are so many opportunities out there. Some organisations havent yet even considered it. The second area Id say is that they think âitâs just another platform from which we can broadcast.â Lots of people have said, No, this is like having a TV in your pocket. Id say, no its not. Ive changed my opinion. You might have even heard me say that perhaps a year ago. Its not like having a TV in your pocket because a TV in most cases is actually not interactive. I think thats the second thing is, understanding that actually people want to interact with you using one of this platforms as well. The third things Id say is just not having a compelling enough story. You wonder why people dont come in to your live broadcast, it might be because you havent promoted it but it might be because the story telling, the conversation, the things that youre sharing are not of interest. Thered be three things Id say over and above my five-point start opportunity. How can brands measure the ROI of mobile live video? Youve got to think about what you are trying to do. In the first instance, it might be about awareness. We want people to be aware. The awareness might be, âdo people even know what we stand for?â âDo people even know what our brand consists of?â I know I havent worked in corporate, very often people didnt understand the breadth of what we did and so one of the things you could do is actually just build that awareness about what your organisation stands for through live streaming. It might be you want to create more interaction and engagement. Ill give you an example. I actually did some training a little while back with a very large international organisation and I was with the recruitment team and we had a huge segment on the social media training program all about live streaming. Actually we used live streaming even in the training session for them to get feedback from an audience about what would people like to see from them in terms of the kind of content that would be useful for them to share through live streaming to tell people about their organisation? So that live stream was all about engagement and interaction and getting ideas. It may not always be, âlets look at dollars and centsâ at the end of the day (or Euros). The third thing might be around; do you want people to take action? Whats the call to action youve got during that event? Is it about more people start to talk about you but it might be very specifically your call to action is that you want people to go ahead and come over to your career site and learn more about something or download a document. Again very often people forget to think about what the call to action is. It doesnt have to be buy our product, but it could be something else that you can do. You can be really smart like in any of the social platforms by giving unique codes or unique URLs or unique phone numbers or unique email addresses so you can start to track it.
